Students With Disabilities Services

A Letter from the Director

Deborah McCarthy On behalf of all the staff in Students with Disabilities Services, I welcome you to USF. The 09-10 academic year promises to be both challenging and exciting. Students with Disabilities Services (SDS) is here to help develop your advocacy skills and obtain the accommodations you need. Please contact us at 974-4309 or come by SVC 1133 to meet us.

When you come by, you'll notice that SDS has grown tremendously over the summer break. This fall, we welcome several new staff members to the SDS team including: Associate Director: Daniel Berkowitz, Coordinator: Phil Bryson, and Intern: Virginia Lagana. In addition, Peggy Kledzik (Coordinator), Robert Kindya (Assistive Technology Coordinator), Beth Vallely (Testing Specialist), and Lisa Daniels (Staff Assistant) remain to assist you.

A few highlights to remember as you start your semester:

  1. SDS has a new website. Check back frequently for links to common forms and information about event and opportunities.
  2. Request your Memos of Accommodation early in the semester.
  3. Submit your Faculty Exam Request Forms (FERFS) at least 5 business days prior to needing to take an exam.
  4. October is Disability Awareness Month. Check the SDS web site for information regarding USF Access-i-BULL and other awareness programs.

We look forward to working with you this year. Go Bulls!

Best,

Deb McCarthy
